A PANTO icon and star of ITV show Britain’s Got Talent dropped his anchor in town to officially launch the new-look Windsor Emporium
Theatre Royal Windsor regular Kevin Cruise cut the ribbon on the revamped seasonal showcase at its new home in the Harte & Garter Hotel, in High Street, Windsor, on Sunday last week.
Hundreds turned out to view the work of 40 talented artists and artisans.
Jackie Couzens, founder of the event, said: “It’s a fun event that champions true creative talent in Berkshire and today [Sunday] we have a massive eclectic mix from artists to jewellers and furniture upcyclers, to an interiors stylist, a photographer, an author and a lady blacksmith!”
The first 250 visitors through the door received an exclusive Windsor Emporium canvas tote goodie bag complete with original spring motif by designer and animator Anja Trampert from Windsor-based Runny
The event is supporting Vivi’s Venture – a campaign set up to raise funds for an operation and physiotherapy for eight-year-old Vivi Gregory-Osborne, who has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
She is on the road to recovery after her selective dhorsal rhizotomy operation in October 2012, which gave her full use of her limbs and enabled her to walk without pain.
The emporium showcases fresh talent and offers the opportunity to meet the creators and find out what inspired their work.
It promises to be a not-to-be-missed diary event offering a unique shopping experience with seasonal treats from garden and alfresco dining ideas in June, autumnal suggestions for bringing the warmth and cosiness back into the home in September and a big Christmas Emporium with original hand-crafted gifts in December.
